Happy Halloween!!!!

Dear Pottery Friends, We want you to all have a safe and memorable Halloween !!!

This Saturday we will not be at the River Side Arts Market, BUT we WILL be kicking off our involvement in a month long pottery themed November at:

Amiro Gallery on Aviles St in Downtown St. Augustine

This show will be a nice little showcase of some of the Old City potters and a great excuse to go out on the town and have the most wonderful fall FIRST FRIDAY of November!  We will be at the Amiro Gallery that Friday evening to chat and answer questions.

Please come out and start thinking (buying) for Christmas!

We have been so busy all October that we are sure that November will go by just as fast.

All of our commissions are coming along very nicely.  Even though the studio where we do our wheel work is awfully quiet as Buster the dog has passed away.  Rob Mitchell's lab/mix old faithful shook off his dilapidated mortal coil and took off for the stars the other day.  Buster had the ability to show his inner puppy till the very end if the weather and his arthritic joints permitted.  Now that he is gone I fear that sharks may invade the studio at any moment and it makes throwing pots a little more daring and quiet.  Now there is just the neighbors damn poodle and that thing is stupid.

Mr. L I was at first curious  concerning pottery  martini cups but now I feel they may just become all the rage.  These are shaping up very nicely and Maya is just putting the finishing touches on them.  There is still firing, glazing, and another firing but I can now invasion the final product to be something quite mentionable.

Ms. E  your piggy bankey lady is coming out great!  Maya is waiting for the initial thrown vessel to set up in order to go on to step 2, but the final product is in our sights.  Please see your progress below.

Ms. A!  Making all of your ring bearer dishes was a cathartic exercise for me and I appreciate the simple soft touch that you do as well in your flower arranging at the fantastic and well worth visiting The Conservatory flower shop, for all your business, personal, personalized, and wedding needs.  FLOWERS FOR ALL OCCASIONS !!!  I love flowers and Maya loves them even more!  Maya has begun on the finishing touches and personalizations for each of the dishes and they are all beautiful unique and sadly not as flouro-florescent as an Azalea but we are just potters you know...   Please tell Matt "hi!" form us!  Let us know when he is going to play his guitar again on the St. Augustine scene.

And last but not lease is our buddy from the River Side Arts Market who checks up on us weekly to make sure we are on par and only cranking out the quality standard that J-Vill sets as the bar of craftsmanship, is Mr. S!  Your Moose cup for your buddy is going to be Awesome!!!  I am making 2 just incase you want the other on e yourself or the unfortunate happens with one.  We will need to know if you prefer the short squat or the "cooling tower" form, as I like to put it.  We hope that you are doing well as a young professional in Jacksonville and we know that Christmas is an exciting time in your profession, we wish you and humanity the very best!  and your moose mug is going to be awesome: thats in the bag.

P.S.  They have handles on now and look more like mugs.

So please support your artists and your locals while thinking about the myriad of holidays involved surrounding winter solstice !!! Because we are thinking about you and the plane tickets we just bought to New Zealand to hang out with some family of mine (Chris) and some of my past employers and friends especially at the Driving Creek Railway in Coromandel, of which you have to visit for the ride of your life up the narrow gauge railway up some prestigious NZ bush and for the vista of a life time over the gulf.  Even on a rainy day this train ride is riddled with art, nature, and the sound of happiness and content in the world !!!  Granted, the trees are often more happy than the tourists but if you can tune in on that it makes for one wild bush (NZ rain forrest) ride, with Barry Brickell as its benevolent creator.

Good Luck Gearing up to our holidays here in the States !!!  We are allways happy to fulfill your hand made desires!

Take care!

- Chris & Maya

Go Greek!

Dear Pottery Fans,

This coming weekend is a BIG one!

You can find us Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the:

Greek Festival 2013!!!

Located at Francis Field in our historic down town St. Augustine by the parking garage.

This is a great opportunity to eat your fill of Greek food and enjoy a nice day in our downtown while the temperatures are nice and the streets are free from millions of the tourists.

Gearing up for Christmas we have: fall festive “Mushroom Ring Holders,” more Beer Mugs, more Sushi Sets, more Scalloped Cups, and NEW Scalloped Vases.

Also if come and visit us this weekend in St. Augustine at the GREEK FESTIVAL you can also see that your Ten Squared potters are not just potters.  We will have glass work, paintings, and a variety of other sculptures (made by US).

Have a great week and we hope to see you out on Francis Field at the GREEK FESTIVAL even if you have to drive all the way from Jacksonville to do so.

Take care and ENJOY this beautiful weather we are having,

Maya & Chris! IMG_2755_4074 IMG_2754_4073 IMG_2753_4072 IMG_2651_4090 IMG_2644_4083 greek festival_5
